Jarmo Äijälä has been the CEO of Oulainen Water Cooperative for eight years. His duties in the close-knit workplace community range from job planning to financial management and practical installation work.

Digita’s reliability and the user experiences shared by others convinced the water cooperative. “We have been gradually switching to remotely readable meters since 2015. Digitalization is evolving rapidly and we want to serve our customers as best we can. The transition to Digita’s LoRaWAN network and connecting our meters to it has gone perfectly”, Mr. Äijälä says.

Network management and even time management have improved through the LoRaWAN network. Better data management and up-to-date information are significant benefits. “We get current information on, for example, leaks at a quick glance, allowing us to report directly to the authorities. In addition, there is less manual and legwork thanks to remote reading, which means that we are also saving on costs.”

According to Mona Miettinen, Sales Manager, IoT Services at Digita, Oulainen Water Cooperative has been enthusiastic about the introduction of new technology from the outset, and is keen to develop the services in its area.
