Digita’s Media Gateway service offers operators and television companies reception, transmission and distribution of television and radio signals on the Media Gateway platform.

With its location at the hub of Finnish communication networks in Pasila, Helsinki, our service is able to ensure a high level of reliability and quality for distribution and transmission. Through Media Gateway, channel distribution can be implemented in the desired formats for the required distribution methods (e.g., cable, IPTV, terrestrial, satellite or online distribution). Channels can be received directly from television companies, operators or international Media Hubs.

Through Digita’s Media Gateway, our customers can implement distribution and reception in the desired formats and with the required conversions for their services. Connections are always implemented in such a way that the customer can incorporate them into their own production chains with as few additional steps as possible. Media Gateway allows for the implementation of different channel versions to meet different requirements, as well as additional services tailored to the customer’s needs (such as encryption or individualisation of Hybrid TV services for different distributions).

Digita’s Media Gateway service is easy to adopt thanks to its central location and existing connections. Digita’s connections to international Media Hubs also allows for the reception, distribution and versioning of international FTA and pay-TV channels in Finland through the Media Gateway service. Monitoring of services is implemented thoroughly, and Digita’s 24/7 service centre in Pasila ensures a high level of usability and the ability to respond quickly if problems occur. Every outgoing service or quality can be monitored in an individualised way. Digita also offers its partners maintenance and fault repair services in Pasila.

Media Gateway brings synergy benefits to other services

We produce online distribution services for operators who need broadcasting-level services. CDN (Content Delivery Network) delivery is a particularly natural and growing part of our television customers’ distribution solutions. In addition to our live channels, we and our partners also offer turnkey Online Video Platform (OVP) services. Our unique services have a high degree of usability and low latency. We also offer Hybrid TV services (HbbTV) and compatibility testing for terminal devices.

Digita’s Media Gateway is located at Finland’s best communications hub in Pasila, Helsinki, from which we distribute television channels to a variety of platforms such as cable television, satellite television and terrestrial broadcast networks, as well as mobile providers and Internet service providers.
