Digita is the main partner of the Yleisön Parhaat Sekunnit (Audience’s favourite seconds) 2019 advert contest. Winners of the Yleisön Parhaat Sekunnit popular contest will be announced at the VOITTO gala on 7 March 2019. In collaboration with Screenforce, Digita has produced the Yleisön Parhaat Sekunnit advertising spot, in which TV viewers have the chance to vote for their favourite TV ad with the hybrid TV voting service.

“TV advertising is developing faster than ever. An effective ad is one that appeals to emotions and calls to action. I am greatly interested in following how Finnish advertisers learn to make use of the possibilities offered by hybrid TV. In this transition, Digita is a natural partner to Screenforce,” says Anna Lujanen, Managing Director of Screenforce.

“We are happy to be working with Screenforce. Advertiser-funded TV plays an important role in making diverse Finnish TV offering possible. Digita actively develops new solutions for TV advertising to ensure its continued leading position as an advertising medium,” says Teppo Ahonen. “The new hybrid-TV voting offered to viewers is an example of an effective way for enriching advertising campaigns by means of an interactive additional service,” he adds.

The Yleisön Parhaat Sekunnit advert spot has been broadcast since 8 February on TV channels by MTV, Nelonen Media, Discovery and FOX.  Hybrid-TV voting is possible through nearly all distribution channels. In addition, MTV and Nelonen Media TV channels display a so-called L banner that directs viewers to go and vote. The service also includes an option to participate in a prize draw held by Digita for a hybrid-TV receiver.

Hybrid TV services already available on all free channels

Hybrid TV services are currently available in Digita’s terrestrial television network and Telia Cable TV. Other cable companies have so far stripped these services out of TV channels prior to distribution. An estimated half a million Finnish homes are currently equipped with hybrid television receivers. This figure has more than doubled during the past year, and growth is expected to continue at the same rate over the next few years. All of the smart TVs sold in Finland by major device manufacturers support hybrid TV, and Samsung has also announced that its 2018 models will support HbbTV services.

Hybrid TV content is listed daily on the hybriditv.fi website: https://hybriditv.fi/
