Helsinki 16 February 2023 – The City of Salo and the technology company Digita have signed a cooperation agreement to develop the city’s mobile networks. The City of Salo owns various properties that can be utilised as mobile network base station locations. Digita will map out suitable locations, and the listing process is progressing towards site selection and installation.

With digitalisation and rapid technological development, the volume of traffic in wireless networks is growing rapidly.

“Digita’s turnkey service principle was a key factor in choosing Digita as the expert organisation to support us”, says Property Manager Jarno Mustonen. “Our cooperation is still in the early stages, but so far everything is progressing as planned, and the project is advancing.”

“We are very happy to be working with the City of Salo, and our cooperation will allow us to improve the high-quality digital infrastructure offered to mobile operators and other organisations building mobile networks in the Salo region. We will be in charge of all the City of Salo’s leasing and contract administration related to telecom operations, allowing our customer to focus on their own core business”, says Digita’s COO Markus Ala-Hautala.
