Ulvila’s water supply plant trusts Digita’s LoRaWAN network in the digitalisation of water services

Ulvila’s water supply plant and Digita concluded a long-term agreement on the digitalisation of the remote reading of water meters. Digitalisation will be implemented with an IoT network utilising Digita’s LoRaWAN technology. Ulvila’s water supply plant, which operates in the Ulvila city area and partly in Nakkila and Pori, will replace all of its water meters with remote-readable meters over the next few years.
“The open LoRaWAN technology and Digita’s national IoT network built on top of it were the key factors that affected our decision. Cooperation is easy and uncomplicated,” says Pekka Sulamäki, Engineer at Ulvila’s water supply plant.
The water supply plant’s customer base covers 4,500 properties. The customers will benefit from the digitalisation of the remote reading of water meters as billing will be carried out in real time instead of sending settlement bills. With the decreasing amount of manual work, the digitalisation of remote reading will also free up time for other work at the water supply plant.
