Finnish media company MTV and Digita have launched a new product for Finnish households receiving terrestrial TV: from now on, consumers can easily get the terrestrial network’s pay-TV channels and the C More streaming service at cmore.fi/antenni. The new product, available on the C More streaming service, allows viewers to watch entertainment and sports at home and on the go, using either the internet or the terrestrial TV network. The terrestrial network’s pay-TV channels are transmitted to customers’ television sets via Digita’s reliable, lag-free national terrestrial network.

Digita started its pay-TV business in early 2020 when it acquired DNA’s terrestrial pay-TV customer subscriptions. Now, a new product has been developed by Digita and the Finnish streaming service C More. In addition to familiar C More pay-TV channels such as C More Max and C More Sport 1 and 2, customers can now get more content in the same package by adding the C More streaming service to it.

“Customer-oriented services are at the heart of everything we do. Now, customers in terrestrial TV households can buy a subscription to both C More’s pay-TV channels and streaming services directly from C More. This gives them access to an extensive offering of entertainment and sports on either traditional TV or on a computer, mobile device or smart TV application via the internet. Digita produces an important component of the new product: a reliable, lag-free national terrestrial TV network to facilitate content distribution,” says MTV’s Head of Distribution Emmi Vainionpää.

“We feel that the new service package is clearer and makes more sense for the consumer now that the terrestrial network’s pay-TV channels can also be purchased directly from the content provider without having to go through a third party. We want to offer consumers an alternative way to watch and subscribe to pay-TV channels – effortlessly on one site. As home to the paid content and channels of MTV, Finland’s largest commercial television company, C More was a natural partner for the development of a new business model,” says Ossi Ilveskoski, Director of Pay TV Services at Digita.

The new product is C More Total, which offers streaming and Antenna TV and, in addition to the terrestrial TV card, includes all of C More’s most interesting and popular content: the most-watched sports, new foreign film releases, TV shows and C More’s original Finnish productions.
