HD transition now complete—perform a channel search on the terrestrial TV network if necessary

Published: 30.6.2025

HELSINKI June 30, 2025 - The HD TV transition was completed on June 30, 2025, at 12.30 p.m., when Digita completed the system modifications.

With the completion, the standard-definition versions of commercial TV channels were removed from terrestrial and cable TV distribution. A channel search may now be required in terrestrial households to view the channels. You will now need an HD-compatible TV or set-top box to watch TV.

Channel search as necessary

If one or more channels are not visible after the changes, a channel search must be done to make the channels visible. Most receivers will search for channels automatically. Some older receivers may require a factory reset before performing a channel search. For instructions on the channel search, refer to the device’s user guide or digita.fi .

For a list of the channels on the terrestrial TV network after the modifications, see below. The coverage areas of the channels vary. You can check them in Digita’s map service.
