Digita Oy and the utility company Kajaanin Vesi have concluded an agreement on the digitalisation of water services with the help of Digita’s IoT network built on top of LoRaWAN technology. With the agreement, Kajaanin Vesi will replace all its 7,500 customer water meters with remotely read water meters in the next 5 to 6 years.

Kajaanin Vesi is a public water services utility company owned by the
City of Kajaani, responsible for water supply and sewerage services in the
Kajaani region. The decision to switch to a new type of digital water supply is
a big step for the city.

”We are delighted to be able to start the construction of remote
water reading. Digita’s LoRaWAN-based IoT network enables this type of
implementation and the technology can also be used for other applications in
the future”, says Juha Nurminen, Director of Kajaanin Vesi.

“Our agreement with Kajaanin Vesi extends over several years and we are
happy to be involved in the digitalisation of the city with new, modern water
services. We will work closely together to ensure that things continue to run
smoothly after the pilot phase as well”, says Digita’s Sales Manager Mona
