Digita and Mapon have launched commercial cooperation in the provision
of tracking solutions utilising Digita’s LoRaWAN-based IoT network and Mapon’s
fleet management software.

”Our cooperation with Mapon enables us to provide excellent
solutions for many different industries, such as the logistics and construction
industries and the equipment and machinery rental sector. Digita’s LoRaWAN
network enables agile and cost-effective tracking of equipment and machines
where it has previously been difficult to implement tracking by means of
traditional solutions. The LoRaWAN technology increases the battery life of
tracking devices considerably, which opens up completely new uses,” says Ari Kuukka, Director of IoT Services at
Digita.

Today, various monitoring systems are an integral part of fleet-based
business operations. The software developed to meet Mapon’s tracking needs
provides comprehensive data on the objects to be tracked. The application can
be utilized for tracking machinery, containers, trailers and dumpsters, for example.
In addition, the service enables the customer to better analyse the utilisation
rates, speed up invoicing, and view the entire fleet on any terminal device.

Ekopartnerit Turku Oy, which conducts business operations in the Turku
area, has introduced Mapon’s IoT trackers to track, for example, dumpsters and
roll-offs it rents. The cooperation between Mapon and Digita makes it possible
to manage the movements of tracked objects, calculate their utilization rates
and determine their rent invoicing in a simple, efficient and correct manner.
In addition, the locations of all roll-offs within the scope of tracking are
constantly saved in the Mapon service.

”In practice, Digita’s LoRaWAN sensor sends information on the
location of a vehicle or machine to Mapon’s system. After this, Mapon’s fleet
management tool can provide comprehensive reports, alerts, and mapping and
routing functions, and information can also be exported from it to external
software via open interfaces. Thanks to the diverse and comprehensive selection
of equipment, the monthly charge for the service is about €5 per device,” says Jani Asunmaa, CEO of Mapon Finland Oy. ”The
benefits of this cooperation to our customers will thoroughly change the
tracking market in Finland – as regards both prices and technology.”
