Digita and apartment building developer JM Suomi have agreed on cooperation on the use of rooftops of properties owned by JM Suomi as mobile base stations. The companies will also cooperate on ensuring indoor coverage at new property developments. The aim is to provide the best available mobile connections for residents.

This decade, the number of devices connected to mobile networks and the use of mobile data will increase to new record highs. To ensure that existing infrastructure can withstand the added load and due to new frequency bands being added, the need for new base station locations is more pressing than ever before.

“We want to provide high-quality, reliable mobile connections for our residents and build a better foundation for the possibilities offered by smart cities. Thanks to the new cooperation with Digita, we can focus on our core business of developing and building comfortable homes and residential areas,” says Seppo Lindberg, Technical Manager at JM Suomi.

“We are very pleased with the collaboration we are launching with JM Suomi. Thanks to it, we can improve the provision of high-quality digital infrastructure to mobile carriers and other mobile network builders in the Helsinki metropolitan area.  Good indoor coverage should be given attention already during the building’s construction to ensure the satisfaction of residents,” says Markus Ala-Hautala, COO of Digita.

In addition to base station management and indoor coverage services, Digita’s real estate solutions include IoT services designed for properties, such as condition monitoring and remote reading of water meters.
