Digita acquires ten telecommunications masts from Alajärven Puhelinosuuskunta in Southern Ostrobothnia

HELSINKI December 4, 2025 -Digita has acquired ten telecommunications masts from Alajärven Puhelinosuuskunta, JAPO, strengthening the company’s presence in the Southern Ostrobothnia region.
The transaction supports Digita’s position as Finland’s fastest-growing independent mast company and further reinforces its role as a maintainer of the country’s critical communications infrastructure. The acquisition is part of the company’s long-term strategy to expand its mast and equipment network to meet growing customer needs.
“This acquisition strengthens Digita’s network in Southern Ostrobothnia and provides our customers with more opportunities to develop and expand their networks in the region. The masts will be integrated into Digita’s standard development process, which aims to ensure that they serve customers as effectively as possible in the future as well,” says Digita’s Teemu Lampila, M&A Director, Site Services Business.
“The transaction supports regional development and strengthens the long-term functionality of communication services. Digita’s strengths in mast maintenance guarantee customers stable and reliable services, while as a fiber operator, we can focus on developing the region’s networks and ICT services as well as enhancing local vitality,” says JAPO’s CEO Toni Harjula.
The masts included in the transaction will immediately transfer to Digita’s ownership and maintenance. Digita will henceforth be responsible for the maintenance, safety, and leasing of the masts. Customer agreements will continue without interruption, and services will be provided according to Digita’s nationwide operating model.
