The availability and reliability of data connections are increasingly critical factors in a digitalized society. Functional and reliable connections to data centers are therefore particularly relevant for the availability and usability of services as well. The collaboration of Cinia and Digita aims at excellent and fast connections, starting from a good data center location. One of Cinia’s network nodes, located in Digita’s data center, enables the fastest route to the most important international cloud service delivery points in Europe.

One of Cinia’s international network nodes in Finland is located in Digita’s data center hub in Ilmala, Helsinki. Cinia offers its customers connections with high availability, low transmission delay, and duplicated routes, resulting in a high level of quality. Cinia has several ongoing international development projects, such as Far North Fiber, which aims to implement the first submarine cable system linking Europe and Asia through the North American Arctic sea area.

“We are very pleased with the mutual cooperation with Cinia. It is great to have a significant player like Cinia in our data center hub. Our data centers in the nerve center of Finnish data communications are intended especially for these types of environments that are critical to security of supply, and which need the best possible conditions to ensure continuous business”, says Markus Ala-Hautala, COO of Digita.

“Cinia’s home market for its data network business is Finland and Northern Europe, where we manage and operate more than 10,000 route kilometers of data communications backbone network. On that basis, we can reliably offer our customers connections for both critical infrastructure and digitalized everyday life. A good example of this is the C-Lion1 submarine cable linking Finland and Germany, which is still the fastest and most direct route from Finland to Europe. Digita’s data center hub is also a good example of a data center site with constantly growing connection needs”, comments Taneli Vuorinen, Head of International Network Solutions at Cinia.

“Our data center customers appreciate comprehensive and versatile data connections. Cinia’s C-Lion1 submarine cable system provides our customers with the fastest connection to Europe in terms of transmission delays. Today, data communications is one of the most important criteria for choosing a data center location in terms of service quality and costs. In addition to its modern infrastructure, our new data center called Pieni Paja, which opened in March, enables yet more extensive data connections along several routes to meet even the most demanding requirements to ensure connections”, says Juha Syrjänen, Director, Data Center Services at Digita.
