As of 7 December 2017, the Finnish Communications Regulatory Authority has updated the regular programming licence for Brilliance Communications Oy to a licence for channels serving the public good. Channels serving the public good are distributed via Digita’s nationwide terrestrial television network multiplex A, which covers 99.96% of the population.

From 1 February 2018 onward, AlfaTV will be included in Digita’s
multiplex A.

“We congratulate AlfaTV for acquiring the licence for channels serving
the public good. AlfaTV has demonstrated that the channel and its wide range of
domestic content appeal to broad TV audiences, and the channel has boldly
developed its selection of programmes over the past few years”, says Markus Ala-Hautala, COO of Digita. “We
are delighted that starting in February, AlfaTV will be available across
Finland in our nationwide network. The Permanto video archive launched by
AlfaTV last spring is also available via the hybrid TV service in Digita’s
terrestrial television network”, Ala-Hautala continues.

“We applied for the licence for channels serving the public good because
at AlfaTV, our strategic goal is to continue increasing the channel’s daily
selection of news and current affairs programmes”, says Jarmo Kalliola, Director of Business Development at AlfaTV. “In
autumn 2017, we introduced the video library Permanto alongside our TV channel
in order to allow our viewers unrestricted access to their favourite
programmes”, Kalliola adds. AlfaTV’s video library is found at the address permanto.fi
