21.9.2017 Digita prepares for the high definition era – Digita has the technical ability to transmit HD broadcasts throughout Finland even on a fast schedule

The television operators in the Finnish terrestrial broadcasting network have agreed that the free-to-air channels will all simultaneously adopt the DVB-T2 broadcasting technology that enables high definition (HD). The current broadcasts in SD format will end on 31 March 2020. Digita is preparing to respond to Yle’s call for bids concerning high-definition broadcasts during the autumn. Digita has already completed the technical planning for the transition to HD in 2020.

19.9.2017 Digita’s TV station in Koli has been broadcasting for 50 years – use of Digita’s nationwide infrastructure changes and develops

Koli’s TV station’s first TV1 broadcast was on 27 November 1967 with radio broadcasts beginning in 29 November 1967. Today a total of 19 TV channels and 9 radio channels are transmitted from the Koli radio and television station.

1.9.2017 Digita and State Security Networks Finland will continue strong cooperation on construction and installation services for the Virve network

Finnish Network Operator Digita Oy has signed a long-term contract with Suomen Virveverkko Oy, which forms part of the State Security Networks Group Finland, on construction and installation services for the Virve network, which is being overhauled. The agreement will be valid for four years.
